ST. St. Louis (KMOV.com) –St. Louis County leaders say they are taking steps to demolish abandoned properties in the Valley Park area.
If you’ve ever driven by a house along 1200 blocks on Hanna Road in West St. Louis County, it might look like a normal construction project. Residents living nearby say this is not the case.
The house, located at 1292 Hannah Road, has been under construction for about 20 years, neighbors told News 4. The house has been under renovation since 2007, with a 13-year renovation timeline, according to St. Louis County records.
Neighbors complained about tall grass, gravel mountains, sewer pipes scattered in the yard, and general desolation on the premises. One neighbor told News 4 that a spill of water from the site was in the yard next door. Said it was causing problems.
Monday News 4 learned that homeowner Dale Hicks now has a timeline to organize the property.
Faced with demolition and acquisition of bank ownership, St. Louis County took Hicks to court during a hearing to demolish Hicks and demolished his property. Hicks’ lawyer has filed an appeal against the decision. The county is providing information to the court to thwart the appeal.
News 4 also learned that Hicks’ loaning bank is giving him to repay the loan or repair the property until June 26th. If not, the bank takes ownership. News 4 contacted Hick’s for comment. Waiting for your answer.
