Colorado Springs — After more than a year of uncertainty, Colorado Springs’ historic Union Printers Home seems to be preserved.
Some local families have pooled resources to buy a historic building that was recently operated as a nursing home. It was closed by the state last year.
One of the investors said they would create a master plan for the property over the next six months to a year, but their goal is to make it available to everyone.
“I’m very excited to be a very open place to the community because I’ve rarely seen anyone other than the inhabitants. There’s no gate. It’s not walled, but it’s going to be a place. Ideal It’s a place where you can have coffee and watch shows. ”
Pattee said it could take up to five years for all work to be completed and a new venue to open.
