Unipart has signed a five-year contract to operate the new Jaguar Land Rover Global Parts Logistics Center in Appleby Magna, UK, which will open in 2022.
Unipart was selected by JLR to provide aftermarket parts logistics to both Jaguar and Land Rover brands.
The operation will be housed in JLR’s new 2.94 sq ft campus, one of the UK’s largest warehousing developments for a single customer.
Unipart Logistics operates UK and global aftermarket distribution centers, parts packing, branded product operations, and customer support capabilities.
Unipart said it was selected for its strengths in supply chain transformation, customer service, digital innovation and sustainability initiatives.
The company is currently operating Jaguar UK’s aftermarket logistics and packer operations, JLR branded merchandise and in-production logistics at the manufacturer’s new Battery Assembly Center.
“Jaguar Land Rover is a global player with world-class products,” said John Neale, Chairman and CEO of Unipart Group.
“We are proud of our strong heritage, a symbol of the automotive industry that we have partnered with for nearly 50 years.
“With this new agreement, we support the evolution of Jaguar Land Rover’s aftermarket logistics with proposals that reflect our joint commitment to digital innovation, environmental sustainability and, of course, customer service.
“As a long-term independent UK company, Unipart is committed to this partnership and looks forward to creating this future together.”
