Flagstaff, Arizona (AP) — Northern Arizona University has cracked down on excluding students who have not taken the required COVID-19 test from online classes. This has made most students compliant.

University spokeswoman Kimberly Otto said he didn’t take a test or ask for an exemption after three email notifications and a phone call (Arizona) to about 25 students earlier last week. He said he was informed that he could not continue to access the instruction system. Daily Sun reported.

This system is used for all online materials, including assignments and exam submissions.

By Wednesday, most students had provided exemption information to complete the test or return online, Ott said.

According to Otto, the university will reopen other students’ accounts once they meet the requirements.

The faculty members heard about the crackdown from a suffering student who couldn’t access their account, said Senate Chairman Joya Woods.

“We all agree that a culture of compliance is important to contain COVID-19, and it is important that all of us (faculty, students, staff) respond to random test requests.” Woods said in an email. “But blocking students in the last week of the semester is especially harmful to the most endangered students, and doing so without notifying faculty and faculty chairs is panicking and confusing. Brought. “
