Shaker Heights, Ohio (WJW) – The University Hospital has made some changes to its visitor policy: COVID-19 (New Coronavirus Infection) Cases continue to grow throughout northeastern Ohio.

Starting Tuesday, September 21, patients can only have one designated visitor per day. This is different from the current policy of allowing patients to have one visitor at a time.

The university hospital said it continues to balance patient compassion and health in implementing these policies.

“Clinically, an increase in the positive number of COVID-19 limits the potential exposure and spread of the virus by limiting visitors, but both mentally and physically. Having family and friends at the bedside can make a big difference in patient recovery. Our visitor policy aims to provide a safe and healing environment for everyone. ” The university hospital said in a statement.
