Las Vegas (KLAS) — UNLV School of Medicine held its second graduation ceremony at the Thomas & Mac Center at 2:00 pm on Friday.

Fifty-five students took the Hippocratic Oath and became doctors.

Graduates come from all over the country, but now they all have a strong connection to the Silver State.

One thing is certain: it was an unforgettable experience for very talented students.

“When I first came to this school, when I first interviewed at this school, I thought something special would happen,” a student named Justin told us. Did. He will continue to work in general surgery.

Since today’s graduates arrived at UNLV in 2018, the School of Medicine has been fully accredited and construction of a $ 150 million medical education building, scheduled to open in the fall, is underway in the Las Vegas Medical District.

UNLV President Keith E. Whitfield, Dr. Mark J. Khan, Dean of Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine, and Dr. Barbara Atkinson, President of the Founder, were to address the graduates. Former UNLV President Don Snyder gave a keynote speech.
