Laura Thayer-Mencke, Academic Advisor I at the Academic and Career Development Center (ACDC), was recently named “Advisor of the Month” for July by the Academic Advising Council (AAC).

The award will be presented to Laura at the August Academic Advising Council meeting.

Laura’s nominee said:

“Laura has done an amazing job since joining the UNO team! I am on track by learning a fair amount and being a flexible learner.”

If you know one of your colleagues has provided exceptional service to students, their colleagues, and/or the university, please nominate them for the Advisor of the Month award! , one advisor will be selected at random from the nominators to receive an award at an Academic Advising Council meeting. All candidates will be recognized for their achievements by the AAC.

Candidates must have at least 0.5 FTE with the primary role being Academic Advising. Selected advisors may be nominated in recognition of their achievements, but are not eligible to receive the award again for one year.

About the Academic Advising Council (AAC)

Monthly forums keep advisors up-to-date on topics ranging from advisory best practices to technology and program updates. Officially launched in 2011, the group welcomes not only advisors to the conference, but also many other professionals on campus who support UNO students.

The Academic Advising Council meets on the third Thursday of each month at 1:30 pm.
