UNO Academic Advising Council Names Minsoo Goo Advisor of the Month | News – Omaha, Nebraska

Goo was nominated by his peers for his dedication to student success.

Mins Goo, Academic Advisor at the Academic Career Development Center, was recently named “Advisor of the Month” by the Academic Advisoring Council (AAC) in September.

This award was presented to Goo at the monthly AAC conference on September 16th.

His recommender said, “Mins’ positive attitude and funny memes are the light of the ACDC office! He is willing to take on new jobs to help the team. He is real and our job. Make it better every day! We are fortunate to have an advisor like a meme for students. ”

Upon being nominated for this month’s AAC Advisor, Goo will receive a certificate and gift card from the UNO bookstore.

Nominate an advisor for the “Awesome Advisor Award”

If you know that one of your colleagues outperforms outstanding service to students, colleagues, and / or college, recommend it to the Awesome Advisor Award! Each month, a random nomination is selected to win the award at the Academic Advisory Council meeting. All candidates are approved for their work by AAC.

Candidates must be at least 0.5 FTE and their main role is academic advice. Once selected, advisors can be recognized and nominated for their work, but are not eligible to receive the award again for a calendar year.

About Academic Advisory Council (AAC)

Monthly forums provide advisors with the latest topics, from best practices for advice to technology and program updates. Formally launched in 2011, the group welcomes conference advisors as well as many other on-campus professionals who support UNO students.

The Academic Advisory Council meets on the third Thursday of every month at 1:30 pm.
