UPDATE: Coroner identifies man killed in single-vehicle crash at McCarran International Airport – Las Vegas, Nevada

Las Vegas (KLAS) — Coroner of Clark County has identified James Jay Flyer, 64, as a man who died in a vehicle crash at McCarran International Airport on July 15.

A leaflet hit a traffic sign during the incident. According to the Metro, he was driving a white 1996 GMC Sonoma pickup truck.

The crash occurred around 5 am near the intersection of Paradise Road and Flight Path Avenue on the airport grounds.

The flyer was transferred to the Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where he was sentenced to death.

According to police, the pickup slowly moved in the eastern lane of the flight pass, climbed over the median strip, and then hit the sign.

The cause and method of the flyer’s death is under investigation by the coroner’s office and will not be counted as a traffic-related death until a decision is made. This collision is under investigation by the collision investigation section of Metro.
