Update (CBS46)-Investigators are working to identify the cause of the sudden collapse of the Newton County Bridge on Tuesday afternoon. Two people were injured and a third died in the incident.
It happened along the side road access road between Conyers and Covington.

The rescuers managed to get the workers back, but one did not survive. CBS46 learned that a collapse had occurred days after traffic was cut off in the area to give way to a $ 3 million bridge replacement project.
When the tragedy struck, workers were just beginning to dismantle the first of the four bridge spans.
