Provo, Utah — A federal prosecutor arrested and prosecuted a Utah man in connection with a deadly riot in the US Capitol last week.

KSTU reports that activist John Sullivan was detained in Provo on Thursday after sharing his video inside the US Capitol because protesters broke security.

Prosecutors deliberately enter or stay in restricted buildings or premises without legal authority, during and during violent entry and chaotic acts on the premises of the Capitol, and civil riots. Was charged with interfering with law enforcement agencies engaged in the legal performance of public affairs.

According to prosecutors, Sullivan wore a ballistic vest and gas mask, entered the US Capitol through a broken window, and pushed the Capitol police inside.

Sullivan is allegedly allowed to shoot and view video footage outside the lobby of Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi inside the US Capitol and on suspicion of shooting a woman by police officers in the Capitol.

Sullivan is the founder of Insurgence USA, an activist group formed after George Floyd was killed in the summer of 2020. He says he voluntarily interviewed the FBI on January 7th in Washington, DC.

In June, Sullivan was arrested for organizing protests in Provo, where a person was shot dead.
