UW-Prime Minister Rebecca Blank has announced that she will leave the university to become a leader at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.
In a press release from the university, the following statement was made:
UW System Regent President Edmund Manydies III:
“Prime Minister Blank is an extraordinary leader in UW-Madison’s position for future success, including her efforts to extend university support to every corner of the state, including work on the Wisconsin idea. The impact of her leadership is felt throughout the UW system and across the state, and she will be terribly missed. While we are preparing for the transition, she will continue as Prime Minister this year, Thank you for knowing that we will continue to record excellence at Northwestern University. “
UW Systems President Tommy Thompson:
“The University of Wisconsin is one of the best universities in the world, and Prime Minister Blank’s tenacious advocacy and strong leadership have helped build his legacy during his tenure. On behalf of the University of Wisconsin system, I am her. Thank you for serving our state and hope she will be well at the University of Northwestern. “
