update:Churchill Downs clerk will not attack on Saturday in Kentucky Derby

Louisville, Kentucky — The settlement of contract disputes between Churchill Downs and Barrett at the racetrack will not take place prior to the Kentucky Derby Race. Both parties did not meet on Friday for mediation negotiations.

As of Friday evening, Barrett, who was responsible for saddle the horse and preparing for the race, had not decided whether to strike during the 147th Rose Run.

According to the Service Employees International Union, Barrett, represented by SEIU Local 541, is critical to the success and safety of Kentucky Derby’s operations.

According to the union, 13 attendants will be paid about $ 16 per hour for work at Turfway Park in Northern Kentucky, which also owns Louisville Truck and Churchill Downs.
