Their daughter, Jessica Miram, is a survivor of the mass shootings at the 2017 Route 91 concert in Las Vegas. She recovered for a month in the hospital after being shot in the liver.

On a holiday weekend, Jessica was on Facebook when she learned about a gun-related injury in the same game her parents participated in.

“They were both fine. They had seen an ambulance. They just thought it was a car accident,” she says.

The five injured in the Coliseum will be treated in the hospital and will be okay. But Jessica is still upset by the thoughts of those injured for firearms at yet another major event.

“I’ve been fighting for the last four years to get back to a place where I can comfortably enter large public spaces,” she says.

This is not the first close call her family made in a festive shooting.
