Portland, Oregon (KOIN) —Vancouver Fire Department responded to a commercial fire that issued two alerts on Sunday night.

According to fire authorities, the crew was initially dispatched to a possible home fire on 11101 NE 14th Street around 8:15 pm.

At the scene, firefighters saw the arbor tree burning and said the fire could spread to the commercial building that houses the chiropractic office and the Christian counseling center.

While fighting the flames, firefighters noticed smoke coming from the vents and roofs of the crawl spaces in commercial buildings. The fire burned through the plastic vents at the base of the building and spread into the crawling space.

Inside the building, the crew found heavy smoke and sounded a second alarm.

Firefighters made holes inside the floor of the building to access the fire. At the same time, a ladder truck took someone to the roof and found an embers lit in the pine needles.

Firefighters put out the fire on the roof while others were looking for a crawling space.

About an hour later, the firefighters determined that the fire was under control.

Officials said no one was injured and the cause is under investigation.
