Riverside, California 2021-12-01 14:32:06 –

Alice, Texas — December KRIS6 Angel is a Vietnam veteran and retired from Deputy Juan Valera, Sheriff of Jim Wells County.

He was nominated for his neighbor Arte Moreno.

“He’s a very nice person. He’ll do anything for us,” Moreno said. “He will knock on my door and bring me food.”

The two became neighbors about 20 years ago.

But it’s not just about food, it’s not about Barrera cutting all five of his neighbor’s gardens each week.

“He just takes a tractor and reaps all the gardens (in our city). He reaps all the gardens,” Moreno explained.

He also takes veterans to their VA appointment. At Corpus Christi’s clinic or at the Department of Veterans Affairs Hospital in San Antonio.

“He wouldn’t even allow us to buy him gasoline,” Moreno said.

“Since 2000, I’ve carved out his garden. I’m just getting started. My mother once told me” haz un bien no preguntas paraquien “,” Barrera said.

Do good deeds, don’t ask anyone.

An example of doing good came from an example set by his family, and now Mr. Valera is telling his own family that good.

“He’s a great person. He’s great,” says Mrs. Barrera. The two have been married for many years.

Congratulations to Juan Barrera. And stay an angel of the people of your community!
