Vice President Kamala Harris expected at last Buffalo shooting victim’s funeral – Fresno, California

Buffalo, NY-The last victim of a racist attack on a supermarket in Buffalo will rest on Saturday.

Ruth Whitfield, 86, is the oldest of the 10 killed. Whitfield is expected to be praised by civil rights activist Rev. Al Sharpton in a worship attended by Vice President Kamala Harris.

Whitfield was in the Tops Friendly Markets after visiting his 68-year-old husband at a nursing home on May 14. A gunner identified by police as 18-year-old Peyton Gendron fired.

According to officials, the white Gendron targeted a store three hours from Conklin’s home, primarily in a black neighborhood.

A total of 13 people were shot dead in an attack being investigated by federal authorities as a hate crime. Three survived.

Whitfield was the mother of Garnell Whitfield, a former Buffalo Fire Department Director. Her funeral will take place at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Buffalo.

Gendron has been charged with first-class murder and has been detained without bail. His lawyer entered his innocence on his behalf.
