Victim extricates self, walks 20+ minutes to report deadly crash – Portland, Oregon

Portland, Oregon (KOIN) —A person walked nearly 30 minutes out of a crashed car to report a fatal collision in Oregon City on Monday morning.

Just before 5:30 am on Monday, Clackamas Fire responded to the accident on South Eaden Road. When the firefighters arrived at the scene, they discovered that a car with three crew members had collided with a tree.

Fire officials said one person was killed in the crash. Another passenger had to be released.

According to people familiar with the matter, the third crew member leaned out of the car before the firefighters arrived and walked to Burton’s store for more than 20 minutes to report the crash.

It has not yet been confirmed if the surviving passengers were injured.

There are no other details at this time. KOIN 6 News will continue to update this story as new information is released.
