Nashville, Tennessee (WKRN) — A 21-year-old man who was injured in a shootout outside Madison Shopping Center last month was arrested on suspicion of drugs and weapons.

Metro police said they had responded to an attempted murder investigation at Gallatin Pike North near McKinley Street on August 31.

According to investigators, police officers said they had determined that someone had fired at the vehicle Jason Potter Jr. was in.

Police said Potter had been transferred to the Tristar Skyline Medical Center for treatment.

Police reported that a search warrant for Potter’s car was obtained. Officials said they had found a gun loaded from Chattanooga stolen, along with marijuana, heroin, cocaine, and more than $ 800 in cash.

Potter was arrested and put in Metro prison on Thursday night on seven charges, including theft of firearms and possession of felony drugs. His deposit was set at $ 100,000.

The detective identified the case as an “attempted murder,” but did not reveal whether the archer was found.

Investigation is ongoing.
