The Vidant Beaufort Hospital Volunteer Department recently awarded seven graduated seniors a total of $ 3,150 in scholarships for hospital service. Each junior volunteer must work at least 32 hours during at least three summers to qualify for a scholarship.

During the summer, Vidant Beaufort Hospital is supported by a group of junior volunteers. These enthusiastic students not only provide excellent service to hospitals and patients, but also have a first-hand look at the medical industry. They do everything from patient discharge, delivery of various items throughout the hospital to specific clerical work.

Volunteer Services Manager Jamie Tyce said: “We hope they will have a lifetime success in their future efforts.”
