Vikings sign kicker Taylor Bertolet to practice squad, elevate CB Cordrea Tankersley to active roster – Twin Cities

If Dan Bailey is upset again on Sunday, the Vikings are waiting for at least one kicker.

The Vikings on Saturday signed the practice team after kicker Taylor Beltré cleared the coronavirus protocol and was successful. If Bailey, who missed seven kicks in the last two games, missed more against the Chicago Bears at the US Bank Stadium, Bertret could quickly replace him. Minnesota also brought Chandler Catanzaro for training.

The Vikings on Saturday also promoted the cornerback Cordrea Tankers Lee to the practice team for the match on Sunday.

Bailey missed a field goal and two additional points against Jacksonville on December 6th. Last Sunday he missed all four attempts with a 26-14 defeat at Tampa Bay, three field goals and additional points.

The Vikings chose to stick to Bailey in a match against the Bears and released kicker Tristan Vizcaino from the practice team on Tuesday. They brought Beltlet to Twin Cities on Monday and Catanzaro on Tuesday. Neither knew that they couldn’t clear the coronavirus protocol in time to practice with the team before the match on Sunday.

However, if Bailey is upset again, the Vikings are guaranteed that the beltlet can be used as one potential alternative.

Tankers Lee was signed to the practice team by Viking on November 9th. He played 17 games in Miami in 2017-18 and started all 11 games he played in 2017. After Kris Boyd was added to the injured list last Tuesday, he will add depth in the cornerback.

Minnesota has five cornerbacks on 53 players: starters Jeff Gladney and Cameron Danzler, top reserves Chris Jones, Harrison Hand and Dylan Mabin. However, Tankersley was able to see Sunday ahead of Mabin, who hasn’t participated in the game since Minnesota pulled him out of the Las Vegas practice team in early November.

Smith has no fine

Viking Safety Harrison Smith wasn’t fined by the NFL for his personal foul on the Buccaneers, sources said Saturday.

Smith was punished in the second half of the second quarter for bowing his head and initiating contact while working on a running back for Le Sean McCoy. This was my fourth personal foul this season, but I only have one fine. He was docked for $ 15,000 after being sent off as a result of a penalty hit in Houston in the fourth week.
