“If you don’t know your status, we encourage you to consider taking this opportunity,” said Aileen L. Smith, director of DHS. “With this information, whatever the outcome, individuals can make decisions about how to manage their health and move forward informedly.”

The test will be available to individuals between the ages of 13 and 64, officials said. Patients are screened in a private area and results are obtained in about 1 minute.

The clinic, set Wednesday, December 1st, from 9am to 4pm, will be held at Virginia Beach Boulevard’s DHS Administration Building.

No reservation required.

Those who test positive lead to appropriate treatment and community support resources.

Virginia Beach residents have access to free HIV testing throughout the year through the DHS Wellness and Prevention Service.

Residents can schedule a reservation by calling Robert Hewitt (757-385-0811) Monday-Friday between 9am and 4pm.
