VNA hosts drive-thru vaccine clinic Wednesday morning; drawing for $500 gift card from NFM – Omaha, Nebraska

Omaha, Nebraska 2021-08-03 15:16:03 –

Omaha, Nebraska (KMTV) — Carol Patrick, Vice President of the Home Health Nurses Association (VNA), states that the organization is hosting a drive-through COVID-19 vaccine clinic Wednesday from 9 am to 12 pm increase. Headquartered on 125th Street and West Center Road. Patrick explained that he could receive the shot without leaving the car.

NFM donated a $ 500 gift card to one lucky person. Anyone who receives the vaccine during the clinic can enter their name in the lottery to win a prize. Scooter, Hearts Donuts and Highland Daily serve light meals and drinks. The first 100 participants will receive a VNA gift bag ($ 100 worth).

Patrick said it was a good time for children aged 12 to 18 to get the COVID-19 vaccine before they started school. Approved Pfizer for that age group will be available. The Johnson & Johnson Vaccine is also available for adults at the clinic on Wednesday. She said the J & J vaccine might be ideal for some people because it only needs to be done once, not twice.

Nurses can answer questions for those who are concerned about or may hesitate to get the COVID-19 vaccine. Patrick said he would contact her on a VNA, and she would connect nurses and people who could address the concerns. She said people are reluctant to vaccinate for a variety of reasons. Some people are “at risk” about it, but are now concerned about the spread of the more contagious delta mutants. Some people are hesitant because they have heard false information about vaccines and viruses. Some people are simply unfamiliar with getting the vaccine, and drive-through clinics can make it easier for them.

Patrick also said the VNA has partnered with the Douglas County Health Department since the vaccine was first available. She said 60 nurses are working with the county to vaccinate. This includes bringing vaccines to patients at home.
