Colorado Springs-Holiday Lights expert Jacob Lewis volunteered on Saturday to help a couple who couldn’t keep decorating their home this year due to health problems.
According to Lewis, he said he decided to step up to help after seeing this post on the Nextdoor app.
“No lights this year 😥. Everyone, I’ve decorated my house a lot since I built it in 2003. I could see it from Mark Scheffé before the construction obstructed my view. Lights from Thanksgiving to New Year. As you know, this year was tough, but my wife also has stage 4 breast cancer and I don’t have the time or energy to brighten my neighborhood. People leave notes and my grown-up children leave me I call him the King of Christmas. Sadly, my kids live on the east coast and I’m the only help of my wife. I’m always tired and may fall off the roof or ladder I’m worried about it. I’m sorry for the lack of lighting this year. It makes me sad, but I can’t risk my life (I’m a 60-year-old wounded soldier) and I’ll get help I can’t afford it. Maybe next year. Love you all! “
