Wall Street is targeting positive open

Tuesday’s quarterly results could be the driving force. Facebook, Logitech (LOGI) and Universal Health (UHS) have announced quarterly financial results after today’s closing.

Trading on Tuesday could also be affected by response to reports on home prices, new home sales, and consumer confidence.

The FDA’s Vaccine Advisory Board will meet today to finalize the COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5-11. If there is a positive response, the issue will be discussed at the CDC Vaccine Advisory Group on November 2nd and 3rd.

Early clues from the US Futures Index suggest that Wall Street may open positively.
Asian stocks have finished mixing while European stocks are trading.

As of 7.55 AM, Dow futures rose 119.00 points, S & P 500 futures rose 18.25 points and Nasdaq 100 futures rose 91.00 points.

The US key average ended high on Monday. The Nasdaq rose 136.51 points (0.9%) to 15,226.71, the S & P 500 rose 21.58 points (0.5%) to 4,566.48, and the Dow rose 64.13 points (0.2%) to 35,741.15.

Economically, the Case-Schiller Home Price Index for August is scheduled for 9 am Eastern Standard Time. The consensus is a 1.3% increase, compared to a 1.5% increase last month.

This week’s Red Book will be published at 8:55 EST. Store sales increased 15.1% last week.

The August Case-Shiller Home Price Index is published at 9 am Eastern Standard Time. The consensus was 1.3%, up 1.5% last month.

The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) Home Price Index or August HPI will be released at 9 am Eastern Standard Time. The consensus was 1.3%, but rose 1.4% in July.

New home sales by the Department of Commerce and the Department of Housing and Urban Development in September will be open to the public at 10 am Eastern Standard Time. The consensus was 760K, an increase of 740K last month.

The Conference Board Consumer Confidence Index for October will be released at 10 am Eastern Standard Time. The consensus was 109.0, an increase of 109.3 last month.

The Richmond Fed Manufacturing Index for October is scheduled for 10 am Eastern Standard Time. The consensus was 5, and last month it was 3.

The two-year treasury note auction will take place at 1:00 pm Eastern Standard Time.

The Fed’s money supply for September is 1:00 pm Eastern Standard Time. At M2, the supply was $ 262.7 billion.

Asian stocks closed mixed on Tuesday. Chinese stocks have fallen.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index fell 12.22 points (0.34%) to 3,597.64, and the Hang Seng Index in Hong Kong fell 93.76 points (0.36%) to 26,038.27.

Japanese stocks rebounded on the day. The Nikkei Stock Average rose 505.60 points (1.77%) to 29,106.01, and the Tokyo Stock Price Index closed at 2,018.40, up 1.15%.

Australian stocks gave up initial profits to end with a flat note.

European stocks are trading higher. Among the major indices in the region, France’s CAC 40 index has risen 47.19 points (0.70%). Germany’s DAX has added 148.56 points or 0.95 percent, and the UK’s FTSE 100 Index has scored 39.87 points or 0.55 percent.

The Swiss Market Index adds 27.65 points or 0.24%.

The Eurostocks 50 Index, which summarizes the 50 best stocks in the entire euro area, is up 0.78%.
