Las Vegas (KLAS) — Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club pharmacies in Nevada can now stop by to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
The company said in a news release Tuesday that the vaccine would be provided for walk-ups and scheduled appointments, as it is licensed at 50 pharmacies in the state.
The pharmacy administers all three available vaccines, including Moderna, Pfizer and Janssen.
Individuals do not have to be members of Sam’s Club to get shots.
In addition, the company is developing new programs to increase access to vaccines and address hesitation in receiving injections.
Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club strongly recommend, but do not require, vaccination of associates. The retailers are:
- Providing reservations to store and club employees
- Provides 2 hours of paid time to get vaccinated, regardless of where the associate gets the shot
- Make vaccines available to employees during shifts if vaccines are available at their location
Both Walmart and Sam’s Club have strengthened their COVID-19 emergency leave policy to include three days of paid leave for employees who experience the side effects of the vaccine.
Dr. Cheryl Pegas, Executive Vice President of Health & Wellness, said: “Extensive vaccination is the only way we can finally end the pandemic and help the country reopen. We want to be left behind as we enter this new chapter in the fight against COVID-19. There is no such thing. ”
