In the next holiday season, from Thanksgiving to New Year, if the current case rate increases by only 20%, the state will have a positive rate of 12% by early January. “Today we have a positive rate of 2.9% — we go to a positive rate of 12%. That’s a problem,” he said.
He said the state allowed celebrations for up to 10 people and urged people to wear masks.
“This is not a regular Thanksgiving,” Cuomo said. “It wasn’t a normal summer. It wasn’t a normal Labor Day. It wasn’t a normal anniversary. It wasn’t a normal grade. Nothing is normal because it’s not normal. There is none.”
