Nashville, Tennessee (WSMV) – WeGo bus operators won eight awards in five categories at the annual bus “roadeo” competition on Thursday night.

The Tennessee Public Transport Association (TPTA) organizes championship events that rank transport throughout the state.

Participants fall into categories such as bus maintenance, van maintenance, 40-foot buses, 30-foot buses, and cut-away vans. Then, tasks at different times are performed and ranked by performance.

WeGo operators have won the top ranks in state public transport

Winners will be presented with trophies and life-sized handles, and WeGo operators will be ranked higher than all other modes of transportation in the state.

The winners of WeGo are:

40-foot bus: Mark Johnson (1st), Michael Featherston (2nd)

30-foot bus: Eric Liggett (1st), Kevin Sentes (2nd)

Bus maintenance: Troy Willis (1 day)

Van Maintenance: Christopher Brown (1st)

Cutaway Van: Joyce Banks (1st) Wanita Whitmore (2nd)
