Greeley, Colorado — A man in Weld County was sentenced to 20 years in prison for hitting Hammer on a female sedan and firing at several victims.
According to the 19th District Attorney’s Office, Angel Casas Martinez, who was 20 at the time of the 2019 incident, was found guilty of first-class assault and harassment domestic violence in February.
On January 13, 2019, a woman called 911 as she was chasing Greeley in a yellow Hammer while Casas Martinez was driving.
Casas Martinez stopped in a nearby grass area after hitting a female sedan several times. The defendant then fired.
Victims told police that Casas Martinez was sending phone calls and text messages to his ex-girlfriend nonstop all night. He then waited outside her apartment and followed her after friends dropped her off.
The district attorney’s office did not disclose the number of people on the sedan at the time of the incident or its relationship with Casas Martinez.
