Spartanburg County, South Carolina (WSPA) – A man was charged with abducting a child and committing domestic violence, said the Sheriff’s Office in Spartanburg County.
Welford’s 55-year-old Jose Pablo Galvez was arrested on Saturday, March 20, and charged with abducting a child, according to a release from the sheriff’s office.
Congressman responded to 9136 Fairforest Rd. In connection with the kidnapping of parents and domestic violence involving a pistol at around 8:15 pm on Saturday night in Spartanberg. Galvez had already left the scene with his child when the agent arrived.
Shortly thereafter, the agent tracked Galvez’s car, the Silver Toyota Tacoma, turned on the I-85, and arrested him without incident, the report said. The child was sitting in a child seat and was unharmed.
Congressman said Galvez later provided a written confession.
The following warrant was obtained by the Sheriff’s Office:
- Domestic violence of a highly exacerbated nature
- Possession of weapons during violent crime
- Two counts of “pointing to the gun and presenting”
- Illegal carrying of pistols
Justice of the peace set Galvez’s bond at $ 28,000 for weapons royalties on Sunday. His deposit for other charges was postponed to a judge in the Circuit Court.
