Do you know the feeling that “I still need to finish work all day”? terrible. The worst part is knowing that when you’re checked out and unmotivated, but rather want to go back to bed, you have to get up, get to work, and be productive. The trickiest part about it may be that you intellectually know that you’re not the only one who’s felt that way, but at the moment it can feel very lonely. That is.
If you feel Friday’s funk and want to shake it off, try these 6 tips to motivate Friday.
1. Eat a solid breakfast and plan for lunch
The first thing you can do to motivate yourself on Friday is to have a solid breakfast. You may have heard the phrase, “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.” It turns out that it wasn’t the only thing my parents were telling us to feed us before school. Studies have shown that eating breakfast helps improve memory, recall, mood, and visual motor function.
However, researchers have found evidence that the benefits of micronutrient boosts provided by breakfast diminish over time. You need to refuel your body, like a car with a full gas tank after a long journey. therefore, I eat breakfast And lunch on a day when you don’t feel the best may give you that extra boost you need to survive the day. If you skip a meal, you may become hypoglycemic, weakened and tired. If you’re already struggling to feel motivated, not eating will only make you feel dull and less inspiration to get something done.
2. Prioritize urgent matters
I have always been a fan of cheat sheets. No, I’m not a scammer, but I love knowing what I need to do. No one wants to waste precious energy trying to figure out what to do when you already feel unmotivated.
By Friday, no matter who you are, there is likely to be at least one or two items that should have been completed at the beginning of the week, in a particular week. This is my simple trick to understand the urgency.
Ask yourself the following three questions.
- Are there any projects that have expired even after the deadline?
- Which of those projects is the most lagging?
- Which of the overdue projects takes the shortest time to make significant progress or complete?
This should help you know that you’re accomplishing something important and easily identify at least one task that you can spend your time working hard on.
3. Work on hanging fruits
Another way to refresh your motivation on Friday is to work on hanging fruits. There is nothing wrong with doing the simple things first. Maybe you are so burned out and urgent work requires too much energy. There is nothing wrong with knocking out the obvious simple things. Email, filing, data entry, document coordination, follow-up phone calls, editing or revision of written work, and research are all hassle-free results. These are all easy tasks.
Performing these simple tasks will give you a sense of accomplishment. You can take advantage of this sense of accomplishment to help you tackle some difficult tasks or perform all the simple tasks, so you can spend more time on more difficult projects next week.
4. Take at least two scheduled breaks
Take at least two breaks during working hours. Life is stressful. The feeling of having to work when you are reluctant is stressful. Don’t make it worse by forcing you to sit in front of your computer all day without a break. The days of believing that “lunch is for punk and working 80 hours a week is what you should do” are disappearing, if not distantly remembered.
In fact, scientists said, “Short breaks during working hours may not have as obvious an effect as taking a vacation, but research has found important benefits. Studies show that breaks reduce stress or Helps prevent, maintain performance throughout the day, and reduce the need for long recovery at the end of the day. “
Set three alarms before you sit at your desk for work. Two 20-minute breaks and one lunch break. You have proved nothing to anyone by forcing you to be miserable in front of your computer. You deserve flexibility and compassion.Make these breaks radical Self care..
5. Listen to some bright songs
Another way to motivate you on Friday is to listen to bright songs. Music is a medicine. It is no mystery that the vibration of sound can affect our mood. The ancient community knew this and accepted it through practices such as chanting as a healing tool, using singing bowls, chimes, bells, and other acoustic instruments. In exercises like Kirtan and Bhakti Yoga, chanting is used to heal and shift energy. Hindu and Buddhist religions use bells and chimes in many of their spiritual healing rituals. The modern world employs the use of sign bowls for energetic healing.
Most people can remember at least one moment in life when music or sound helped them change their mood. Music has been shown to have a direct impact on listeners. Studies show that listening to music at work can “improve both mood and quality of work.”
If you’re not motivated, the solution to the problem is to throw your favorite album in the background while trying to do some things. If you can’t work while listening to verbal music and don’t like classical music or traditional jazz, explore genres such as trip hop, house, ambient, beach house and jam bands. Artists such as Bonobo, Thievery Corporation and Grammatik will also be entertained.
6. Give yourself what you are looking forward to
As a yogi, I’m about everything Exists at that moment.. But sometimes the gifts are a little too strong and being a super gift will not help improve your mood. At that moment, harnessing the power of positive expectations can be your secret weapon. “Knowing that something good is coming will encourage you to accomplish tasks that you may not necessarily want to do.”
We all love to be rewarded when we’re doing something we don’t particularly want to do. Giving yourself what you’re looking forward to is a way to ensure that you’re rewarded for the hard work you’ve done to survive the day.
The rewards don’t have to be huge. It’s a small thing like getting ice cream, going for a walk, spending time with friends, going out with your cell phone on, and don’t disturb for a few hours. I used this trick a lot when I was in boarding school. The time between New England semesters feels so long, especially in winter, so my friends and I will be excited about the little things like drinking lime rickey at Brigams. Believe it or not, it worked.
Try it the next time you hit Funk on Friday. Think about what you can look forward to, no matter how small, and notice how it changes your energy.
As the saying goes, “This will also pass... “
Friday is like every other day before the end. One of the things you can trust is that no one is waiting for time, so know that time is on your side, no matter how difficult it may seem to get through.
No matter what, Friday is over. The best you can do to motivate Friday is to make sure your body contains the micronutrients you need throughout the day, identify urgent ones, work on hanging fruits, and desk. Take the time away from and throw your favorites. Adjust and think about the fact that there is an entire weekend you are looking forward to.
You got this!
