Portland, Oregon (KOIN) — Mayor Ted Wheeler will hold a press conference on Friday to talk about security in the aftermath of a series of shootings in the city.

Wheeler and PPB Chief Chuck Lovell will answer your questions from 11:00 am.Press conference Livestream on KOIN.com.

So far in 2021, there have been 62 murders in the city of Portland.Recently, shootings remain Over 100 shell casings scattered on the street Near NE95th and Prescott. An additional 26 bullets were found near the SE7 2nd and Woodstock.The woman barely escaped injury when one of the bullets passed Her windshield and two other bullets hit the Portland Park Ranger truck.

The Portland City Council held a community safety work session on Thursday. Most of the plans talked about long-term solutions to the dramatic increase in gun violence in the city.
