This Thanksgiving is unlike any other, and this year the big rally will be cancelled. But that doesn’t mean that people in need of food are out of the options.

We have created a list of open food pantry, food banks and food distribution centers. Please note that this is not a complete list and the time and place may have changed before you read it. Please call before accessing the site. I would like to keep this list up to date. If you miss a resource, please let us know by emailing with “meal” in the subject line.

Meal ration drive, raffle, Turkish giveaway

The· Dominican Center We distribute 100 Thanksgiving dinner boxes to residents of the Amani area.Residents can register for the dinner box by completing this Survey About the safety of the neighborhood. There is also a $ 50 raffle for every 50 surveys completed.

The· Neighborhood house The pantry is 2819W. Located at Richardson Place, it serves residents with zip codes 53208 and 53233 Wednesday noon to 2 pm and Thursday 10 am to noon. On Thursday, the pantry distributes turkeys on a first-come, first-served basis until there are no more turkeys in addition to the regular food bags.

COA Youth and Family Center Maintains normal business hours in a food pantry at 2320 W. Burleigh St. The COA will also distribute grocery store gift cards at the location.Time is available here..

COA also provides meals to families. Currently the slots are full, but you can add yourself to the waiting list by calling 414-265-7689.

Capuchin Community Service We distribute holiday food boxes to seniors on Thanksgiving and families with children during Christmas time.Slots are currently full, but you can call 414-933-1300 to join the waiting list

Doorway ministries We are looking for donations to the food pantry. The ideal drop-off time is from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Necessary items include canned beef and chicken, spam, sardines, wiener sausage, baked beans, spaghetti o, canned yam, macaroni and cheese, cereals, chicken noodle soup, and long grain rice.

Aurora Family Service This season, we are distributing meal tickets to 3,100 families.The family has already been selected, but enough families this season can still help by donating here.. All $ 35 gifts help another family in need to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal.
