For now, it’s a margarita for everyone!

Please correct if I am wrong. But taking Margaritas home may be the biggest pandemic innovation.

I’ve been testing the taste of many restaurants Margaritas at home over the past few months, and these are my 12 favorites. Most days of the week, I’m relieved to know that the fridge now has at least one of these.

Anepalco

Anepalco makes some great margaritas, but my favorite is the one called El Diablo. Made of mezcal instead of tequila, it is essentially a tamarind margarita. Tamarind puree, Jamaican flower syrup, lime juice and orange slices. 3737 W. Chapman Avenue, Orange, 714-456-9642, anepalco.com

Descanso

Descanco cucumbers and salmargaritas are great drinks. Made with cucumber-injected erte solo tequila, coriander syrup and fresh lime. It’s incredibly refreshing. They sell them in quotes for $ 31. 1555 Adams Ave., Costa Mesa, 714-486-3798, descansorestaurant.com

Din Tai Fung

Speaking of margaritas, Taiwanese dumpling shops may come to mind, but the yuzu version made with Patronage and Grand Marnier is incredibly delicious. Asian citrus fruits taste like a mixture of lime and grapefruit, where they are tempered with a whirlpool of honey. Sold in an 8 ounce bottle, $ 19.50. El Choro

El Choro’s classic margaritas are as tasty as they were in the good old days. It is made of 1800 tequila, Cointreau and the sweet and sour stuff of their home. Eureka!

Eureka’s Industry Margarita! Made with 2 types of juice (pineapple, orange), 2 types of homemade syrup (ginger lime, coriander lime), and tequila. The main flavor is pineapple, with a strong undercurrent of coriander. It may sound strange, but it’s actually pretty good. Hopddy

At this luxury burger shop, there are nearly 12 types of take-out margaritas, including a classic frozen drink half-gallon bag ($ 29.95), but I didn’t taste it because I focused on strawberry margaritas. Made with Olmec Altos Plata Tequila, Cointreau, Fresh Lime and Strawberry Puree, it’s very delicious. Sold in a plastic takeaway cup with ice and ready to drink, $ 8.75. Roller gasper

These are in plastic takeaway cups with tagine-coated rims, so just add ice. But of course, I don’t drink plastic at home, so I move it to glassware sprinkled with my own tagine. These are classic margaritas made with Zimador tequila and freshly squeezed sour mix. One serving (two servings is almost enough), $ 15. 211 W 2nd St., Santa Ana, 714-972-1172, lolagaspar.com

Mayfield

Suavecita is probably the most elegant margarita on this list, made with fresh lime, agave, orange bitters and tequila. When drinking in a restaurant, the glass for this is bordered with sumac and some Middle Eastern salt. The takeaway version doesn’t come with that flashy salt, but it does come with dehydrated lime for garnish. Perla

Although not on the latest takeaway menu, Perla’s La Niña won the 2020 Cocktail of the Year. Made with lime, agave, pineapple juice and serrano chili, combined with Derma Geimeskal or Micampo Blanco Tequila. Taps Fish House & Brewery

This is for purists. There is nothing flashy. The skinny margarita is just done correctly. It’s sold in 8 ounce bottles (2 bottles) for $ 25. Water grill

The seafood restaurant currently operates a pop-up market three times a week, selling a variety of cocktails, including excellent margaritas, for quarts ($ 35). These are consistently the strongest margaritas on this list. 3300 Bristol St., Costa Mesa, 949-208-7060, watergrill.com / southcoast

Vaca

The takeaway cocktail menu changes regularly at Vaca and sometimes includes one of the best margaritas at OC. A perfect formula for fresh lime and agave, in addition to tequila and Cointreau (or one that works).
