White House Coronavirus Task Force Offering Briefings – Lexington-Fayette, Kentucky

Lexington-Fayette, Kentucky 2020-11-19 15:55:38 –

For the first time since July, the White House’s Coronavirus Response Headquarters will hold a briefing on Thursday as cases reach record levels across the United States.

The briefing will begin at 4 pm Eastern Standard Time. It is unclear whether President Donald Trump will attend the briefing. As of Thursday afternoon, he wasn’t holding an event on a public schedule.

The briefing on Thursday will take place on the same day that the CDC urged Americans not to travel on Thanksgiving holidays and asked Americans to celebrate their holidays with their families.

Earlier this week, Task Force member Dr. Scott Atlas criticized public health experts for advising Americans not to celebrate Thanksgiving with their families. Atlas’ stance is outliers among professionals.

On Wednesday, the number of coronavirus-related deaths since the outbreak of the pandemic exceeded 250,000 in the United States. On Wednesday alone, more than 1,800 deaths have been reported nationwide, the highest number of deaths in a day since spring.
