Sampitman’s answer to KJ Jefferson’s play in the quarterback on Saturday was pretty straightforward.
“Isn’t it bad?” Pitman said.
Jefferson recorded six touchdowns with a 52-51 defeat to Olemis, including one that jumped from around the five-yard line … and Pittman had a light moment with it.
“I didn’t expect him to use it, but I taught him to start from 5 and score,” Pittman said. “I didn’t expect him to use it, but I was proud of him coming and thanked him for teaching me it.”
Jefferson passed 326 yards and three touchdowns at 25 out of 35 yards. He also ran 20 times with 95 yards and three more touchdowns.
“Did he not be competitive?” Pittman said.
Perhaps the most striking part was at the last 1:22, when Warren Thompson directed an eight-play, 75-yard drive that pulled the razorback within the points of the pass that caught him in the end zone with no time left. bottom.
“I thought he threw a capsize at the end of the game, so we just went up and got it,” Pittman said. “He’s tough. He got some hits.”
This was a growing experience for Jefferson, who came to Fayetteville from Sardis, Mississippi, a small town on Interstate 55, about an hour south of Memphis on the edge of the Mississippi Delta.
“He’s just becoming a balanced guy and you have him for another two and a half years,” Pittman said. “It’s a really good omen for the University of Arkansas.”
Jefferson is also a fan favorite. I don’t hear much screams from people who want to put backups in the game.
“Fans believe in him and I believe in him, but our team really believes in him,” Pittman said. “He doesn’t say much, but he’s one of the most popular people there because he deals with his business and what he does on the football field.
“Can you imagine where he started this year and where he is now? It’s really great. He’s diligent, so he’ll get better too.”
Arkansas has begun preparing for another SEC match against Auburn on Saturday at Razorback Stadium.
