Wichita, Kansas (KSNW) —Wichita Airport Authority officials / firefighters have been charged with computer crime, according to a statement from the city of Wichita on Wednesday.
Lieutenant Matthew Hoyt, who had been employed by the Wichita Airport Authority (WAA) for 22 years, was charged with two computer crimes by the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office, according to city officials.
Wichita Police (WPD) was notified in June of an incident involving Whit. Detectives learned that Whit had previously accessed and printed a crime report from WPD’s records management system.
The WAA police chief demanded that the WPD lead the investigation to avoid conflicts of interest.
Hoyt was indefinitely dismissed from the position of supervisor until the results of this investigation were available. According to the news release, his mission is limited to firefighting and medical services.
