Wichita man arrested after catfishing woman online – Wichita, Kansas

Wichita, Kang (KSNW) — A Wichita man was arrested on suspicion of robbery and rape after police said he was cat-phishing a woman online.

The Wichita police station answered a call from a woman who said a stranger had raped her at 2:00 pm on Wednesday. Police later stated that he had identified the man as Jeffrey Skrogins, 35.

According to investigators, the woman was talking to Skrogins online, and he appeared at her home. But the woman told police that Scroggins was not the person he claimed to be online.

According to police, Skrogins entered the woman’s house and sexually assaulted her before leaving.

The police are W. Arrested Scroggins in 1900 blocks on 35th St. South. Police put him in Sedgwick County Jail on suspicion of exacerbation of robbery and rape.
