Wichita, Kansas (KSNW) — Wichita State University’s Yasmine Wright was named Cross-Country Runner of the Year at the American Athletic Conference (AAC) announced Wednesday afternoon.

“I’m very excited about Yasmine being selected as the AAC Runner of the Year,” said Kirk Hunter Head Coach. “The confidence she has shown since the beginning of the season has led to a very exciting year of achievement every time she steps into the starting line.”

From Kansas, Hutchinson won four of the five races completed this season. In particular, I won the AAC personal title at 21: 03.30 in 6K.

“Her commitment to becoming a conference champion will be a role model that others can follow in the future,” said Hunter.

Wright finished the season with performances from all regions and finished 17th.NS In the NCAA Midwest region.

Throughout the season, Wright won three of the four AAC Athlete of the Week honors, following his wins at the JK Gold Classic, Guns Creek Invite and Bradley Pink Classic.
