Wichita, Kansas (KSNW) — A student at Wichita State University protested, marched on campus, and demanded action this week after someone reported suspected sexual assault in a campus dormitory.
Students gathered at Shocker Hall Quad on Friday at 4:30 pm to assist alleged victims and march through the campus to the University Police Headquarters. Some people talked about sexual assault awareness, and some survivors shared their own stories.
A report to police was made on Tuesday, stating that the student had been sexually assaulted in a dormitory room in Shocker Hall at 3 am on Sunday. University police are investigating.
Wichita State University President Rick Muma told KSN, “Universities cannot comment on aggressive crime or Title IX investigations or share information protected by federal privacy and record laws.” Said.
