Greer, South Carolina (WSPA) – Wild Carolina, South Carolina makes an eerie turn with a new element to this month’s Ghost Tour in downtown Georgetown.
If you’ve taken one of these tours through downtown streets, you may be familiar with David Lovegrove.
He is a tour guide who knows both old and new stories.
This year, there’s a new story about creeping from inside the walls of the Glia Heritage Museum.
“I noticed that this building has a major component I’ve never seen before,” says Lovegrove. “It’s essentially an untouched space.”
Nothing is being performed and there is no jump scare.
They do not need to be applied.
As we head to these recently discovered secret passages, we learn that they have a history that is certain to send a tremor to your spine.
“The true story of this building and how it’s used is so amazing and eerie that it’s a story in itself,” says Lovegrove.
This is a journey that begins in the basement that housed part of the post office in the 1930s.
Now hanging on the wall is a blueprint of the building that initially asked even more questions.
“We were very excited to understand the secret of this. Of the 44 pages, we have no plans to show a secret tunnel. We have no plans to show a secret tunnel,” Lovegrove explained. ..
There is a reason for that.
We learn that a man who once secretly navigated these portals performed a mysterious mission through several peepholes that saw the comings and goings of postal workers.
According to Lovegrove’s investigation, the man with the peephole was with the federal government, which appeared without notice as part of a surveillance system to prevent theft.
“Deeping into it, we found that there was so much in the story that we knew,” Lovegrove said.
If you want to hear the whole story, you can take a secret passage tour in October.
This is an addition to a regular ghost tour that takes you through downtown Greer.

According to Lovegrove, all proceeds from ticket sales will be used to maintain the Greer Heritage Museum.
