Wind Surge pitcher called up to Triple-A St. Paul – Wichita, Kansas

Wichita, Kansas (KSNW) —Another roster move has brought Wichita Wind Surge players to Triple A affiliate St. Paul, who is one step closer to playing at the Minnesota Twins.

Pitcher Tyler Viza will leave Wichita after playing nine games in this season’s Wind Surge. In his appearance, he boasts a perfect 5-0 record and an earned run average (ERA) of 0.49. In the 18.1 innings he threw, he allowed only 11 hits and 1 earned run.

The visa has defeated 29 batters this year and only allows six walks.

Phoenix, Arizona, was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in 2013 in the 32nd round, just after graduating from high school. Since then, he has been flying around minor league teams. Last season he played for the San Antonio Missions, an AA affiliate of the San Diego Padres.

With the departure of the visa, the Wind Surge roster will be 27 people.

Wichita Wind Surge will play Northwest Arkansas Naturals at Arkansas on Friday night.The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 pm
