Boston (WHDH)-Friday morning, rain turned into snow in parts of Massachusetts, and some residents urged winter weather recommendations to withstand up to four inches of snow.
This recommendation is valid until 1 pm in parts of the Middlesex, Franklin, Hampden, Hampshire, Worcester, and Norfolk counties.
Berkshire County is receiving recommendations until noon.
Wet snow began to fall early in the morning in northern Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire. We will arrive in the Boston area from mid-morning to midnight.
In the Berkshire and Worcester counties, it is expected to snow 2-4 inches.
While other inland communities expect 1-2 inches of snow, some 1-inch coatings may be found on the North Shore and parts of Boston.
Accumulation of the South Shore, Cape Cod, and the islands is unpredictable.
Drivers are required to be aware of slippery road conditions and plan in the morning.
The snow will gradually decrease this afternoon.
Halloween on Saturday is likely to be chilly due to the high temperatures of the mid-40s.
