The Washington Wizards broke up with Scott Brooks head coach on Wednesday, but they couldn’t agree on a New Deal.
His contract expired at the end of the 2020-21 season.
The 55-year-old Brooks led the Wizards to a 34-38 record and made it to the playoffs as the eighth seed at the Eastern Conference this season. They lost to the Philadelphia 76ers in five games in the first round.

Brooks edited the 183-207 record with three postseason berths in five seasons in the capital. Prior to that, he went to 338-207 in five playoffs in seven seasons at Oklahoma City Thunder (2008-15).
Brooks was named NBA Coach of the Year in 2009-10, led Thunder to the NBA Finals in 2011-12 and lost to the Miami Heat in five games.
