A woman who was taken to the hospital after being pulled out of a fire in her Maryland home died of her injury.
Two dogs also died in the flames that broke out on Sunday evening in Darnstown. The other four dogs in the accommodation survived.
Firefighters from Montgomery County were dispatched to a two-story house on 15,000 blocks of Darnestown Road at around 7:15 pm. They arrived after finding a flame bounced from the house and an “extreme” hoarding condition inside.
They rescued a seriously injured woman from the ground floor of the house, but she was later injured and died in the hospital.
The victim’s name has not been published.
The crew had to truck the water because the house was in a place without a fire hydrant.
According to fire authorities, the fire started in the living room on the first floor. They said the cause was an unknown malfunction or failure of electrical components. They estimated damage of $ 85,000.
