Haralson County, Georgia (CBS46)-A 47-year-old woman in Tennessee was arrested in Georgia after police said she had abandoned her children in the rain after stealing her ATV.
The incident happened Wednesday at 8:28 am
According to a spokesperson for the Haralson County Sheriff’s Office, lawmakers were sent to Old Pleasant Hill Road to call for trespassing.
When the unit arrived, the 911 caller told his agent that an older woman and two male boys were invading the caller’s property. According to the caller, women and children had an ATV with them. The suspect’s trio left the place before the agent arrived.
While the agent was talking to the caller of 911, another agent learned that the ATV could have been stolen. One of the boys appeared in the house where the ATV was filmed and told the homeowner that he couldn’t find his brother and grandmother, according to people familiar with the matter.
Congressmen searched the nearby woodlands and later found their grandmother.
The grandmother and her two grandchildren reportedly told investigators that they had traveled to Florida to deliver the dog. On her way to Florida, her grandmother ran off the road and her car got stuck in the woods. According to officials, the grandmother took her grandson out of the car and stole the ATV.
The woman reportedly destroyed the stolen ATV, somehow separated from her grandchildren and left them in the rain, a spokesman said. Both grandchildren were found intact.
“This is when a person not only endangers the life of a child, but also steals and damages the property of our county. She faces proper accusations for her very serious crime. Must be, “said Sheriff Stacy Williams.
Vanessa A in Jefferson City, Tennessee. Vercruysse, 47, was charged with atrocities against children, possession of drugs, and theft by taking them.
