Woman charged with DUII after hitting, killing man in tent – Portland, Oregon

Portland, Oregon (KOIN) —According to authorities, a woman is facing manslaughter and DUII charges after beating a man in a tent along a highway in southeastern Portland on Sunday.

According to the Portland Police Department, 27-year-old Terence Tombe was beaten and killed by 20-year-old April Lee Johnson.

Immediately after 3:20 am, police responded to reports of a collision along I-205N near the SE Powell Boulevard Off-Ramp. When they arrived, police said they had found a Honda sedan crashed into an occupied tent.

Tonbe was found dead in the tent. According to police, Johnson, who was driving the sedan, was seriously injured and was taken to the hospital.

Johnson has been criminally charged with manslaughter, drunk driving, and reckless driving.

Her first appearance is scheduled for Tuesday at 2:30 pm.
