KSNW, Wichita — A Wichita woman who was charged with murder earlier this year and subsequently released on bail returned to prison.
Prosecutors say Charity Blackmon, 31, violated the terms of her bond by traveling to Newkirk, Oklahoma on Friday night. They say surveillance services indicate that she did not return to Wichita until midnight.
Authorities re-arrested Blackmon on September 21st.
Blackmon March 26, death of Merrill Labas, 54 years old.. Labas was on a bicycle on the 13th and Oliver was riding a bicycle when the van collided with him. The van driver then went out and shot Rabus before driving away.
Witnesses tracked the van and continued to call the police. Police said Blackmon was the driver and they arrested her.
The judge charged her with a felony first-class murder and a criminal possession of a weapon.
Blackmon’s original bond was $ 250,000. The court set her new bond at $ 800,000.
