Virginia Beach, Virginia (WAVY) — A woman did not challenge a misdemeanor accessory after a December shooting in which a man was seriously injured at Virginia Beach.
Virginia Beach’s Verneka Lynnae Wiggins, 24, did not challenge the indictment in the Virginia Beach General District Court on Thursday.
Wiggins was sentenced to 365 days, suspended for 335 days, sentenced to 30 days in prison, and 12 months of unsupervised probation.
Two men, E’ze Anyanwu Pritchard and Tyrion Logan, who have been charged in connection with the shooting, will appear in court on April 15 for a preliminary hearing.
On December 3, police officers responded to shootings around Lynnhaven Parkway and Centerville Turnpike.
A police officer arrives at the scene and finds a man with a life-threatening injury from an apparent gunshot wound.
The man was taken to a local hospital by an emergency health care provider.
According to police, a preliminary investigation showed that the man was in a Linhaven Parkway car when he was shot by a stranger in the car.
Police said they did not believe that the suspect and the man shot dead knew each other.
