Corpus Christi, Texas-Animal Care Services (ACS) is proud to announce the resurgence of the Uhupack Leaders Club. The reading program is offered every Friday from 4 pm to 5 pm at the Animal Care Service Facility on 2626 Holly Road.
The program invites volunteers to have the animals on the premises read books. Reading books on animals has many benefits, including improving children’s self-confidence and public speaking skills. This program invites residents of all ages. However, adults must accompany children under the age of 18.
Participants can bring their own books or choose from a selection of recently installed “Little Free Library”, thanks to a partnership with the Eagle Scout squad. When taking books from a “small library”, it is recommended that the general public leave the books.
For more information about the Wooppack Readers Club or the “Little Library”, please contact Animal Care Services (361.826.4630).
